SAN ANTONIO, TX- Today, Gina Ortiz Jones, a proud veteran, and lifelong public servant, officially filed her candidacy for mayor of San Antonio.

“There is no time to waste. We need to get on with bringing down costs where we can, make smart investments where we must, and increase transparency around how City Hall spends our tax dollars. This is what my hometown deserves, and it’s what I intend to deliver,” said Jones after filing her candidacy. “For far too long, promises have been made, but our elected officials haven’t kept them. We need a leader with the experience and the vision to get things done for San Antonio now.”

In a crowded field of candidates, Jones’ leadership experience, public service and result-delivering track record sets her apart as the leader San Antonio needs to tackle its most pressing challenges with the attention and accountability they deserve. As the Under Secretary of the Air Force, Jones managed a $170B+ budget and led the 600K+ members of the Department of the Air Force.

A fast-growing list of endorsers coupled with a growing group of volunteers and supporters, Jones’ campaign for San Antonio Mayor is proving to be the campaign to watch.
