Democratic voters with a municipal vote history in San Antonio need to “Meet Gina Ortiz Jones” and hear her story as “the most experienced leader running for mayor who believes there’s no time to waste making life affordable, protecting public schools, keeping us safe, and ensuring more transparency” on television, streaming, and digital platforms as soon as possible, as early voting begins on April 22 and ends on April 29.

Gina Ortiz Jones was the 27th Under Secretary of the Air Force, the second-highest civilian overseeing the Air Force and Space Force. Reduced lunch and affordable housing helped Gina graduate from John Jay HS and earn a scholarship for college. Gina is an Air Force and Iraq War veteran. She is the daughter of an immigrant and public school teacher.

  • She’ll defend our schools, champion affordable childcare, and keep taxes low by cutting waste, reducing utility costs, and making housing more affordable.
  • She wants accountability and urgency. She’ll ensure we quickly execute City plans, and she’ll shine a light on secret taxpayer-funded projects and backroom deals.
  • As Under Secretary of the Air Force, she was responsible for 600,000+ personnel and a $173 billion budget.

If all voters with a municipal voting history in San Antonio have sufficiently seen all of the above, voters in City Council Districts 7, 8, and 10 would also benefit from seeing on the go when they receive their ballots that Gina Ortiz Jones:

  • Will reduce crime and improve public safety
